The UK based 9 year old sensation has just added another amazing feat in her extremely young career by getting an invite to audition for The Voice Kids. She's proving that musical talent knows no age and dynamite does come in small packages. Lil Jam whose real name is Jamelia Margaret Sadiq released her first album just over a month ago on the 13th of September which coincided with her 9th birthday. The album is titled Fresh on the scene and it features 7 tracks.
And not only does Lil Jam sing the lyrics but she writes them too. All 7 tracks on the album are written by Lil Jam, strongly displaying her songwriting talent.
The young singer has also been interviewed on live tv in the UK. She appeared on the BBC TV, CBBC CHANNEL, on the "BLUE PETER SHOW". Lil Jam has had her music played on Capitalk 100.4 fm and her most watched video is close to hitting 10'000 views. To add to her impressive accolades she has performed at the famous Afro-Carib barbershop (SENSATION) in LEEDS UK. She's confident, well spoken and bursting full of potential, which is something we love to see in any artist.
It seems that music literally runs in her veins as she's the daughter of Dj Jah Hanief. Her music features strong Caribbean influences and listening to her I'm often reminded of Koffee. From the success of Mukudzeyi Jr and Herman among others, it seems like the time has come for young kids to dominate the market.
In addition to her music career, Lil Jam has launched a clothing line titled Lil Jam Wear #LjWear that will feature clothes for kids of ages 1-13. She's also announced she'll be launching a website coming soon and we're looking forward to it and everything else she has in store.
