Two Zimbabwean Creatives Feature On MultiChoice Talent Factory's Academy Class of 2022


Two Zimbabwean creatives are set to get the opportunity of a lifetime after being selected into MultiChoice Talent Factory's Academy Class of 2022. Yvonne Feresu an award winning blogger & writer and Chimwemwe Chipidza who was recently competing at the world monologue games shall join 58 others in attending MultiChoice Talent Factory Academies in various regions. In post after the announcement Yvonne Feresu wrote:


I wanted adventure guys and I'm getting it. Made it into the Multichoice Talent Factory Academy & I'm super excited. Always wanted to train as a filmmaker & now here's my chance 



Chimwemwe was at a slight loss for words as she saw her name announced. Citing the announcement by MultiChoice Talent Factory, the creative wrote:

MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) Academy is a social investment initiative by MultiChoice Africa, aiming to grow Africa’s creative industries into vibrant, economic powerhouses. Sixty aspiring film and TV creatives will be enrolled for a year-long and fully funded programme at three academy hubs in Zambia, Kenya and Nigeria. Students will create quality local content that will be broadcast on local M-Net channels on the MultiChoice platform.


The graduates will also get to showcase their portfolio of work on the MTF portal – a database for film professionals across the continent, where they can access job opportunities, keep up to date with industry news, and expand their network.


Graduates from the first edition have gone on to music shows such as Coke Studio in Kenya and Zed Top Ten in Zambia as well as Nigerian TV dramas Battleground, The Johnsons and Tinsel.


Creatives from the following countries are eligible to apply for it: Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Angola and Mozambique.
