Tuku's First Posthumous Release "My Better Half" Featuring Mbeu

My Better Half is the latest song by Oliver Mtukudzi featuring Mbeu taken from Abiangu 2 Album.

Three years after his passing, Oliver Mtukudzi is finally releasing (posthumously) music again. A week ago the track "My better half" was released and it features the gifted Afro-fusion artist Mbeu, who was mentored by Tuku before his passing. The song comes as the first single to Tuku's upcoming 68th album "Abiangu 2".

‘Abiangu’ is a word in the Kore Kore dialect that means ‘Friends’. The upcoming album is a follow-up to ‘Abiangu -Duet Of My Time’ which was released back in 2011. The duet is a love song celebrating finding the right partner and it features that typical Tuku guitar we all know and love and Mbeu & Tuku greatly compliment each other on the vocals.

Similar to the first Abiangu project, the theme of Abiangu 2 will be duets from Oliver Mtukudzi & his friends from across Africa and the world m. The expected features include Ladysmith Black Mambazo (RSA), Mr. Nhungue (Mozambique), James Sakala (Zambia), Diamond Musica (Zimbabwe), and Mario Lucio (Cape Verde).

My better half has so far received mixed reviews from the airplay it has received. Some are finding it lukewarm while others are simply excited about new music from the legend.
