Radio Canada shines Spotlight On Zimbabwean Singer Aurah Ariko

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Radio-Canada morning drive show Edmonton AM put a spotlight on Aurah Ariko, a Zimbabwean-born Edmonton, Canada-based artist by interviewing the artist whilst playing songs from her debut EP, The Gift released in October 2021. 

They also added her music to the Radio Canada Provincial Playlist

Edmonton AM show host Mark Connolly and Tara McCarthy played snippets of The Gift EP whilst exploring the themes from Aurah Ariko's project. They discussed how Aurah Ariko sang in English and Shona whilst blending the modern sounds she found in Canada together with traditional African sounds like Mbira. 

"I talk a lot about the desire of love because I think as people we just have that desire to have love, to find love," says Aurah Ariko in an interview with CBC about the project that digs into love and heartbreaks and also hardships of the world.

Edmonton AM is a local morning drive show that airs from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. Host Mark Connolly wakes up the city with compelling interviews, while Tara McCarthy provides the latest traffic and weather every 10 minutes.
