Watch This 16 Minute "Dawn In The Dark" Film Directed By Runyararo Mapfumo

Dawn In The Dark, a short film by British-Zimbabwean director Runyararo Mapfumo is now available for streaming on the Short Of The Week website. 

Premiered in 2019, Dawn In The Dark is a 16-minute film about a young girl named Dawn and her fun uncle Nate struggling over her bedtime routine on the eve of her father’s birthdayA new dynamic to their relationship is explored as they navigate their way through a family crisis. The film was backed and funded by BBC Film and BFI Network.



"This one emerged from my greatest heartache but was made with a lot of love from our cast and crew." Says Runyararo Mapfumo who directed six short films since 2013 and is popularly known for her work on the critically acclaimed Netflix television series Sex Education where she directed four episodes in season 3 in 2021.
