Zimbabwean startup NeedEnergy selected for Google Mentorship and Funding Program for Sustainable Development

A Bulawayo, Zimbabwe-based Startup company, NeedEnergy co-Founded and led by Leroy T. Nyangani has been selected for Google's Startups for Sustainable Development program that supports a global ecosystem of impact-focused startups.

The program is not time-bound to support startups in their mission for long-term impact at scale and uses the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals as the framework for measuring impact.

The NeedEnergy team will have access to Google's network of advisors, funding, and platform technology. "As part of my experience, we will be working with Google mentors and product experts to Increase clean energy access through AI in Sub-Saharan Africa." Tweeted Nyangani whose energy-tech startup company leverages innovation, data and modern technology to provide sustainable and clean energy solutions by using Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in designing energy solutions tailor-made for consumers. 


Nyangani holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Science and Technology per his LinkedIn profile. NeedEnergy was founded in 2016 and incorporated in 2019. The company holds 3 patents in Data Analytics and Machine learning.
