UB40 featuring Ali Campbell promise the Classics and something different for their Harare Show

UB40 Harare, Zimbabwe Show details

The world-famous reggae and pop music band UB40 is expected to arrive in the country today, ahead of their show on Africa Day tomorrow. According to event organizers Ngoma Nehosho it's a show that has been in the making for years now and had only been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

We are set and ready to welcome UB40, featuring Ali Campbell, to Harare, Zimbabwe, for a show that will go down in history as iconic! This event has been in the making for a couple of years, the pandemic delayed it but we are happy and super excited to finally have this legendary band in Zimbabwe. - Walter Wanyanya of Ngoma Nehosho to The Herald

The curtain raisers for the event are going to be DJ Chiwedaar, Mimmie Tarukwana, Josh Ansley and Sylent Nqo, alongside his band of brothers. This is going to be the first time UB40 has performed in Zimbabwe in some 40-odd years. Band leader Ali Campbell released a statement promising all the classics along with something different at the beginning and the end of the show.

We will always play the classics, like Red Red Wine and Falling In Love With You, but we like to change the beginning and end of the show. We will play Lean On Me and maybe add three or four new songs... The band members are all fantastic musicians and we have climbed back up to the biggest venues in the past 12 years.

The concert is set to kick off at 6 pm tomorrow at Old Hararians Sports Club, with gates opening at 4:30 pm. Tickets are going for $60 at Techtools Avondale, Pariah State Borrowdale, Pariah State Avondale and Pariah State Highland Park.
