Moto Moto Festival 2025: A celebration of Zimbabwean culture in Cologne

Headlined by some of Zimbabwe's most talented named, the Moto Moto Festival will be returning for its second edition at Odonien in Cologne, Germany on 19 July 2025.


Celebrating Zimbabwean culture and its global diaspora, the event will be running under the theme: "Afro. Culture. Future."


Founded by cultural curator Plot Mhako, the Moto Moto Festival aims to amplify African creativity and challenge global perceptions through music, identity, and storytelling.



Mokoomba 


Headlining Moto Moto's 2025 edition is the internationally acclaimed Afro-fusion group from Victoria Falls, Mokoomba, celebrated Afro-fusion singer Feli Nandi, renowned Mbira musician Mary Anibal, beatboxer and hip hop artist Probeatz, gifted percussionist Wowrae and Awa Khiwe, a Germany-based hip hop artist renowned for her powerful lyricism and feminist expression.


The festival will also be graced by a performance from rising dancehall star Nisha Ts, making her European debut with support from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA). The singer was the runner-up in the 2025 NAMA Outstanding Breakthrough Artist (Music) category, she joins the lineup in place of category winner Chillmaster, who was unable to attend.


Additional performances will come from Munashe Lorraine, a Zimbabwean-German vocalist fusing soulful African rhythms with European influence, along with DJ Blaze, a Harare-based crowd favourite celebrated for his genre-bending sets.


Completing the lineup will be fast-rising UK artists Jah Hanief and Lil Jam; and local acts Solah and Keith.


Beyond music, Moto Moto Festival 2025 will see the introduction of a Kids Zone, an interactive space offering music, dance and storytelling experiences for children.
