The fourth season of Prime Video’s hit animated series, Invincible, is just a few months away from release and it is has been revealed that Danai Gurira will be joining the cast as a mysterious new antagonist.
Gurira's new role will see her reunite with former castmate, Steven Yeun (aka Glenn) who plays Mark Grayson on Invincible. In addition Invincible was created by Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. Gurira will be voicing the mysterious alien, Universa.

Widely recognised for her role as Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Danai Gurira is an award winning actress, screenwriter and playwright. Gurira's films have grossed $6.98 billion, making her the seventh highest-grossing actress of all time.
In 2025, it was announced that she had been cast in three upcoming films. Matchbox, a Mattel Films live-action movie based on the toy brand of the same name, is scheduled for release in 2026. She is also set to appear in a new remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, directed by Michael B. Jordan and slated for release in 2027. In addition, Gurira will star in Here Comes the Flood, opposite Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson, directed by Fernando Meirelles
Gurira has been a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador since 2018, and has founded two non-profit organizations. In 2023, she was honored with the TIME100 Impact Award.
