Ami Faku headlines Unplugged's March edition

After a return that reminded everyone why the festival was so beloved in December, Unplugged has announced the lineup for its forthcoming edition.

Set for the 28th of March at First Capital Bank Sports Club, the festival will be headlined by South Africa's Ami Faku (accompanied by her full band), the voice behind hits like "Abalele," "Asibe Happy," "Into Ingawe," and "Ndisize."

This will be the singer's first performance in the country since 2023, when she graced the Jacaranda Music Festival and gave a performance people still remember to this day. A passage from renowned arts and entertainment journalist, Tafadzwa Madzika's review of the event read:

"Ami Faku had me deep within my emotions with a soul-clutching rendition of "Abalele", coming right after "Asibe Happy", with songs flowing into each other effortlessly. It was rich and soulful, almost like worship music. It was a performance that moved you."

In a full circle moment for its upcoming edition, Unplugged got the seal of approval from Ngoma Nehosho's Walter Wanyanya, the brains behind Jacaranda Music Festival.

In a post discussing the event the entrepreneur and event organiser said, "The amazing thing about creativity is that creativity has no limits and we see it here. Whoever curates this great event is a person who is making my dream come true which is to also attend a well curated event that I am not part of. Now I can also come out ndombofadawo nevamwe."

For the March edition Ami Faku will share the stage with "Too Much" hitmaker Nutty O, R&B heartthrob Kae Chaps, the King of Zim hip hop Voltz JT, rising Afro pop singer Atenda Chinx, "Sunday" hitmaker MuGaratia and a surprise act yet to be named.

On the decks will be Reverb7, Shaku Chanté, MadeHerBelieve, DJ Fujee and MC Tatts.

Early tickets for the event are now on sale online at $15 for General Access and $50 for VIP. You can buy your tickets here. www.unpluggedzim.com
