"Abalele" has now become a word that instantly brings to mind "classic." Principally due to the magic Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa and Ami Faku conjured up on their 2022 release by the same name. A meeting of soft percussion and soul that still resonates with audiences years later.
Now, a new trio of artists is seeking to capture a similar essence on a track led by Josh Major, a producer/DJ right on the pulse of house music in Zimbabwe.
Inspired by the likes of Uhuru, DJ Kent, Nitefreak, and Black Coffee, the Bulawayo born producer is driven by a love of music. He doesn't aim to just to create but to tell a story that evokes emotions and his most recent collaboration with GhostZWE and MJ Sings does exactly that.
"Abalele" is a love song that fuses together high intensity Afro house soundscapes with soulful vocals. Riddled with infectious grooves it has a progressive texture that makes it perfect for the dance floor. While Josh Major and GhostZWE are longtime collaborators, this is the first time that either has worked with MJ Sings.
"Working with these 2 amazing artists was mind-blowing and I have been a fan of MJ Sings for quite some time, so having him on a record is another milestone achieved for my career." - Josh Major
Fresh from his debut at Samuel Cosmic's ROOTS, and the hosting of first ever event, Haus Gruv, "Abalele" sees the producer solidifying his place on Zimbabwe's house music scene. The DJ/producer is not only expecting to be fully booked this year but expects to release a lot more music.
"Abalele" is now available across all major streaming platforms.
