Unplugged Zimbabwe, the country’s premier family-friendly live music and lifestyle festival, returns on Saturday, 28 March 2026 at the First Capital Bank Sports Club in Harare.
This is set to be the festival's most ambitious edition yet, with a world-class headline act, an electric local lineup, and the launch of a landmark talent initiative.
Headlining the edition is South African vocal powerhouse Ami Faku accompanied by her full live band, joined by Nutty O, Voltz JT, Kae Chaps, and Unplugged debuts from Atenda Chinx and MuGaratia; two of Zimbabwe’s brightest young voices.
Curating the atmosphere across the full day are selectors Reverb7, Shaku Chanté, and MadeHerBelieve, with the dynamic duo of MC Tatts & DJ Fujee as hosts.
This edition sees the festival formally launching the "Next Superstar" initiative: a structured talent awareness programme to identify, spotlight, and accelerate Zimbabwe’s most promising emerging artists.
Selected artists will perform on the Unplugged stage alongside established headliners, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and access recording, promotional, and network support from the Unplugged ecosystem; a direct expression of the festival’s founding belief that the biggest African superstars of tomorrow are in Zimbabwe right now.
The first artist to be selected for this initiative is Takunda, a rising R&B vocalist who recently released an EP titled 'Argh, Honestly, Nevermind.'
The versatile singer-songwriter from Chitungwiza, defies genre boundaries with his eclectic artistry. With a lifelong passion for music, Takunda's recording journey began in 2021 with the Afro-pop single "Temptations." He followed that up with the deep house track "Ndasarudza Iwe," which received airplay on Trace Africa, and the Afrobeats song "Vaima," a soulful plea for better days that aired on Trace Gospel.
Unplugged festival experience will have a Kids Zone, fully supervised from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM, and staffed by professional child minders with games and activities throughout. Children under 12 enter for just $5 at the gate.
There will also be a Live Experience Arcade, offering immersive gaming and interactive digital experiences running parallel to the live performances.
Tickets are available online via the Unplugged website.
