KYE named Musical Artist of the Year at the 2026 Amari Gala

Melbourne based, Zimbabwean artist, KYE​, received the Musical Artist of the Year Award at the 2026 Amari Gala. The singer came out on top in a category that featured rising names on Australia's music scene, including: Baro Sura, Beckah Amani, VV Pete, Zaffy and Devaura.


This was KYE's first honour, having been previously nominated for the Apra Music Awards (Australia) and the ARIA Music Awards (Canada).

Launched in 2024, the Amari is a platform that exists to celebrate the excellent achievements of the young black diaspora in Australia. Spanning from creatives in the content creation, videography, and photography industry to MCs, presenters, athletes, musical, visual, and performing artists, to entrepreneurs and African professionals in business, STEM, and community-centred organisations.


Inspired by 2000s garage, pop, soul and rock, KYE has emerged as one of the brightest star on the Australian music scene in the past few years. The singer has 3 EPs to her name and shr has shared the stage with ​the likes of Sampa The Great​, ​Ruel​, ​Meg Mac​,​Jessica Mauboy,​ ​Adrian Eagle, while gracing some of Australia’s biggest festivals. In 2023 she was named as one of Spotify's EQUAL Ambassador Australia/New Zealand.
