AfröFrenz, a curated Afro house event by the collective Haus Coucha, will be hosting its debut Golden Moments edition this coming Saturday, the 27th of June.
Set for Farm At Art in Harare, the event will be centred on day vibes, presenting a change in pace from AfröFrenz's usual nighttime raves, yet still centred on celebrating community and house music.
On the lineup is recent Carpe Diem debutant Sikhulile, an innovative new name on the Afro house scene in Kush, "Mogre" hitmaker Samuel Cosmic, deep house aficionado Mimi, AfröFrenz resident curator Jay, and Bulawayo's finest on the decks Ryan Synth.
As Jay describes it AfröFrenz's "Golden Moments" is simply guided by "our obsession for sunsets" and there's no better way to indulge in them than with friends and music. This is mirrored in who event curators Haus Coucha are as an organisation.
"It’s the community that makes Haus Coucha. The people who rally behind it. Who believe in it. We are just a bunch of friends blessed to be part of it." - Jay, AfröFrenz curator
In addition to AfröFrenz, Haus Coucha are also the brains behind Bottomless Mimosas held at Denga, and they have also collaborated with events such as One Giant Picnic and Dzoka Fest. Rooted in house music and centred on community, Haus Coucha and AfröFrenz are rapidly establishing themselves on Harare's event scene.
