Mlue Jay makes final 8 for Back To The City Festival's 10k Challenge

Bulawayo born rapper, Mlue Jay, has made it to the final 8 MCs for this year's edition of the 10k Challenge at Hennessy's Back To The City Festival (BTTC), Africa’s leading hip hop showcase.

Initially selected from over 3,800 submissions, Mlue Jay made it through a voting round that cut the list for 20 to 8. The final 8 will face on 10 October in Johannesburg for a chance to win R10,000 cash, studio time at the SA Hip-Hop Museum, M-Audio Studio In A Box Pro and a shot at the BTTC Main Stage — opening act for 2027.

This year’s edition of the 10k Challenge is being judged by Ma-E, Fif Laaaa and DJ Slique.

Mlue Jay has been creating music since 2010 and in that time has racked up awards on platforms such as the Bulawayo Arts Awards, Zim Hip Hop Awards, and Changamire Hip Hop Festival Awards. The multi award winning artist is also a producer, director and entrepreneur. From his Joburg base, the rapper launched the independent record label YeahWeLit Entertainment in 2018.
