Zimbabwean Hip Hop's finest take centre stage with the digital release of their chart topping, self-titled album "MMT-LP" which features their hit singles 'Zvidhori', 'Party Yatanga', 'Zvidhori All Star Remix', and 'Chakaipa'
MMT begin to position themselves for global reach especially in the diaspora markets where their unique blend of music is fast acquiring a loyal fan base. With the physical release of their self-titled debut album "THE MMT LP" in October last year, the band initiated their movement calling for fans to #BuyZimHipHop and this digital release, sees them continue on that journey. Adding to that quest to get on the African music map, they have released the video for their lead single "Zvidhori".
"Zvidhori" is MMT's most successful single to date, having topped the radio charts in Zimbabwe on all the major stations. Zvidhori held the top spot for 14 consecutive weeks and stayed on the charts for 24 weeks. So it made sense that a video be done for "Zvidhori", already having received rave reviews from fans and Hip Hop aficionados the world over.
"Zvidhori" is a catchy club tune with a cheeky theme. Basically MMT poke fun at the excessive amount of cosmetics women are using which make them look like dolls (zvidhori). It also touches lightly on the 'beer goggles' phenomenon. Look out for the music video on major music channels soon. Andy Cutta directed this video and the track was produced by Young Nash, a 19 year old Zimbabwean prodigy.
MMT showcases other Zimbabwean talent on their lead singles. Dancehall artist Dhadza D features on single "Chakaipa", bringing the two trending worlds in the Zimbabwean Music Industry together. "Party Yatanga" features rap artist Darkface and finally in "Zvidhori" we see the trio lead in an all star mix that features urban artist Stunner, Young Nash, Simba Tagz and other notable acts from Zimbabwe.
