Shaun Mundawarara Wins Best Performance By A Male Actor In A Lead Role (Musical) At The Kenya Theatre Awards

Shaun Mundawarara came out on top last night at The Kenya National Theatre as he was awarded the Best Performance By A Male Actor In A Lead Role (Musical) Award at the Kenya Theatre Awards. The award was for recognition for Mundawarara’s performance as the protagonist in the Kenyan musical play, Subira, A New Musical.

The musical received great reviews when it premiered and it was a winner in one of several other categories it earned nominations. In a social media post, Shaun wrote:


Thank you everyone for voting and believing. I felt the energy. One infinity stone was collected. Shoutout to Charles Jouda and Nice Githinji for bringing it out. It was incredible playing with you guys. Congratulations (to) Subira Musical and the whole team. 


Shaun Mundawarara is famous for the 2018 production Accidental Small House and he is also the producer of Zimbabwe's first superhero series Captain Mfombi. He is currently part of the cast for the romantic comedy Just Say Hello, which is set for release this year. In a comment to us, Shaun shared how the award reaffirms his craft.
