Zimbabwean Rapper Sainté Collaborates With Pharrell Williams' Billionaire Boys Club

Zimbabwean-born, UK-based rapper Sainté recently collaborated with Billionaire Boys Club on an EU Sounds Vinyl and T-shirt collection limited to just 100 pieces for his latest music project titled Out The Blue.

Billionaire Boys Club is a fashion and lifestyle brand founded by US music producer Pharrell Williams and Japanese fashion designer Nigo back in 2003.

The collection sold out in minutes but not to worry as the artist promises more fashion collaborations in the future. In a conversation with Greedysouth, his immediate response was "Yes 100%! I will have more stuff for the world dropping in the future but all in good timing. The work rate is up right now."

The BBC x Sainté collaborative collection comprises translucent white vinyl, while the inner sleeves of the cover feature exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the making of the project.

For Sainté, collaborating with BBC came about naturally, "I got into music and as people can tell; I love fashion. I was wearing BBC products and I guess it got their attention" says the Leicester-based 22-year-old Rapper. "I’ve been wearing BBC since I was like 15 or 16 years old, It's just one of my favorite brands."

Sainté took the music route as a university student. The rapper initially pursued music as a hobby until 2021 when he caught a lot of people's attention after dropping two projects titled Local MVP and Out The Blue

Sainté's Zimbabwean heritage is not difficult to pick as he randomly raps some lines in Shona as one listener recently pointed out on Twitter

Sainté came onto the UK hip-hop scene on the back of his first viral hit titled Champagne Shots with a flow more reminiscent of Curren$y and writing not far off from the opulence of Westside Gunn.

His style blends American rap mainstays with flavors and snapshots of UK living and Shona lyrics. "I work on new music constantly. I am releasing a fair bit this year!" he says.

Sainté was listed among exciting up-and-coming artists of 2022 by Complex, calling him Leicester's new 'Wild Card' Rap Prodigy. He was featured among a List of UK Rappers to Watch in 2022 by the publication.
