There is always something happening, yet because of our busy lives and the noise of everyone fighting for our attention, it is easy to miss out on the gems. So we've put together a list of the 10 monthly events in Harare that you need to checkout before the year ends:
Silent Book Club
Silent Book Club is Harare's quiet literary revolution. The event puts a twist on the typical book club, allowing people to read at their time and pace but with a community that shares a love of books around them. On top of this there's the chance to network, exchange books and even meet your favourite local authors.
Shebeen Festival
Hosted by the pioneers of Shebeen Rap, Dough Major, Dingo Duke, Dillybuck and Ndonzi Beatz, Shebeen Festival is a platform that celebrates emerging urban talent. This is the place to see the voices of tomorrow, and some of today, while thrifting and getting a bite of street food. It is a place easy to love.
First Floor & Loft3 Gallery Exhibition Openings
First Floor Gallery in the CBD and Loft3 Gallery at Hunters Moon Estate are havens for contemporary art in Harare and they offer up gallery openings every month. In 2026 alone they've had exhibitors that include Julian Fischer, David Chinyama, George Masarira, Dominic Benhura, Charles Nkomo, Grace Nyahangare, and Helen Teede among others.
Cine-Club at Alliance Française
Hosted every last Wednesday of the month, Cine Club is a space for film lovers to meet, watch and discuss French cinema and culture. Doors open at 6 pm and screenings begin at 6:30 pm, but the conversations afterwards can carry on for a lifetime.
Market At Queen
Queen Of Hearts' premier monthly event brings together tastes from across the world at a food market that brings the very best of Harare's kitchens. This is a must try event for any foodie, and it sees 15+ food outlets coming together, alongside great music, every last Sunday of the month.
New School Comedy Night
A product of King Kandoro’s Growth Point Studios, New School Comedy is a platform spotlighting some of the country’s most gifted rising comics. Hosted every last Friday of the month at Moto Republik, the platform has become a springboard for stand up comedians with some its alumni earning nominations for the NAMA awards.
Day Vybez
Rax and Rawse's Day Vybez is an event driven by a strictly no amapiano music policy. Nomadic across Harare's high end bars, the event centres hip hop, dancehall, Afrobeats and R&B for a day to night event that is renowned for good vibes.
Sofar Sounds
"Sounds from a room" - Sofar, is a global concept that delivers intimate concert experiences from unique venues. Sofar Sounds Harare is an experience everyone has to have, and not just once. Curated by Khulumani Muleya, the concert is diverse in both musicians that take the stage and the concepts it delivers.
Deep End
Hidden Culture's Deep End is a home for electronic music in Harare. Driven by Jason Le Roux, the event has an undercurrent of deep house, tech, and Afro house. It hosts talents from not only Zimbabwe but the region, and it drifts from a club setting, to the open air.
Market At Mukuvisi
Held on the first Sunday of the month at Mukuvisi Woodlands, this is a space for local makers and community. The Mukuvisi Market brings together arts and crafts, fashion, food and music. It is the perfect way to wind down a weekend.
Cine-Club at Alliance Française, Silent Book Club, First Floor & Loft3 Gallery Exhibition Openings, and Mukuvisi Market are free to attend.
