This was the first time that Zimbabwe competed in this prestigious competition. There were 16 countries and Zimbabwe was the only African country. We were also the only team with only black students in the competition. On Africa Day, we made Africa proud.
Moot Court is a simulation of actual court proceedings. Students are given a fictitious case and they argue it as Prosecution or Defense. This particular case was centered on international humanitarian law. The focus was on war crimes.
The Zim team learned about the law of war 3 weeks before the competition and trained every day. The future of Zimbabwe is bright when we have such world-class talent.

The President of the country congratulated the students on their achievement and called the moot team inspirational.
