Takura and Blaqbonez first linked up on No Stopping remix back in 2020, off Takura's Star Signs album and now have a lot of collaboration songs in the vault. "Takura and I have made a lot of songs. This was one of the songs we recently made. And then I was listening to it again, and I knew there was something really special about this song." says Blaqbonez about the song which also features Bien from Sauti Sol.

"It was around this period I travelled to Kenya, where I met Bien of Sauti Sol. He was so excited, and he sent his verse as well." continues Blaqbonez in a statement to Apple Music seen by Greedysouth. "MAZOE is a song about being horny and wanting to have sex with someone. The person is on your mind all the time, but maybe a situation will make it not happen."

Young Preacher is Blaqbonez's "gospel", his raw and undiluted truth starting from the self-extolling introduction as the "Young Preacher" and moving on to 14 perfectly crafted stories all within the 'Sex Over Love' mantra; borrowing core rap, reggaetón and trap influences.

On this project, Blaqbonez worked with Ramoni, Telz, Mastekraft, Chopsticks, JAE5, Ozedikus, Blaise Beats and more who are all credited as producers.
