Kudakwashe Chadenga ties the USA National High Jump record set in 2012

US-based Zimbabwean Athlete Kudakwashe Chadenga recently tied the US National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) indoor record set by James White of Iowa Central CC in 2012 as he won the high jump at 2.26m (7-5) at the sixth annual Corky Classic sporting event held last week Friday-Saturday at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

Chadenga – who swept the NJCAA indoor and outdoor high jump titles last year – made his record clearance on his third attempt.

With this win, the South Plains University second-year student Chadenga also ties his personal best mark, which is also the Zimbabwe national high jump record which he set early this year.

"First thing is I’m blessed. Through hard work and dedication comes joy and happiness. I’m proud of myself, and everything that I am accomplishing. I’m not on this grind for nothing I’m gonna get my hustle up." says the 20-year-old former Prince Edward student.
