Falling Walls Lab Zimbabwe has opened the call for its 2026 edition. The global pitch competition gives bright minds a unique chance to become innovation's next big success story. All from a 3 minute pitch. Falling Walls Lab is currently running in 60 countries worldwide & Zimbabwe was added to that list in 2022.
The competition seeks innovative ideas that look to solve the world's problems. Aluwaine Manyonga's Chigubhu Lantern a groundbreaking idea for sustainable lighting won the inaugural edition of competition, and it has been ideas just as brilliant shining on the platform ever since.
Last year Lovemore Chinyoka took the first prize with his pitch on breaking the wall of the unbanked unformal sector.
The top 3 pitches in the competition receive cash prizes, while the winner also heads to the global Falling Walls Lab finale in Berlin Germany and the week-long Berlin Science Summit. The Summit is attended by world movers, leaders in technology, investors, and finalists from across the globe.
From the applications 10 finalists will get to pitch to top management from the local partner companies including NGOs, agriculture, finance, and start-up incubators among others.
