'Kickin it with Kim Jayde' selected for Cannes Short Film Showcase

Kickin it with Kim Jayde, the fashion focused Web Series by award winning content creator and TV host Kimberley "Kim Jayde" Robinson, has officially selected for the Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase.

The production was selected out of 200 entries from 25 countries, across 5 continents, and it will be part of a showcase before an international audience of filmmakers and industry professionals.

Kickin it with Kim Jayde has been a labour of love for Jayde. The TV host independently financed, directed and produced the show through her media company KJ Productions. The series premiered in 2020, and is now its third season, which saw it going across borders.

"As a proud African woman of colour who independently financed, directed and produced an entire international season of 'Kickin It With Kim Jayde', to be selected for 2026 Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase is both a surreal, and incredibly validating moment in my life," said Kim Jayde in a post

"May this be a small symbol to anyone looking for a reason to unapologetically chase their dreams, that your dreams are valid."

The Diversity in Cannes Short Film Showcase was created to encourage underrepresented filmmakers from unique backgrounds telling stories specific to marginalized populations to share their work before a global audience during the Cannes Film Festival. The independent event is sponsored by Academy Award Winner Viola Davis' JuVee Productions.

Kim Jayde has become a force on Africa's media scene. The TV host is now not just a content creator but a cultural ambassador and a media mogul in her own right. Named on Forbes Magazine's 30 Under 30 list, Drum Magazine's Top 50 Most Inspiring Women list, and with an SA Style Award, a DStv Content Creator, and an SA Fashion Award to her name, Jayde has been redefining the heights Zimbabwean women in the creative space can reach.

She has worked with brands such as Mercedes Benz, MTN, the NBA and Hennessy, while also taking on the roles of Marketing Head for Sneaker District South Africa, and Head of Marketing & Public Relations for Steyn Entertainment along the way. Jayde has worked as a TV host for MTV Africa, Lucky Star's Collaborative show, and currently the In The Shark Tank web show.

Jayde will be speaking at the Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) for a third year running.
