Continuing to build the legacy of her Abantu recording camps, Charisse C enlists Kenyan vocalist Khandasi and Zimbabwean producer TAPIWA on her latest single "Come To Me (My Love)." Layered in production, with a percussive rhythm and softly sung lyrics, "Come To Me" has ambient textures that build tension and release it at just the right points.
This enveloping Afro house record calls out to love, and lands ahead of an anticipated 'Abantu Means People 2.0' EP on the horizon.
The Abantu label is cultivating a community of artists who are experimenting with culturally rooted sounds in new ways; translating the lived experiences of the diaspora into music. Insistent on boundary pushing artistry, presented with a high level of care and quality. This was at the heart of the debut Abantu Means People EP, which was released in 2025.
"In a world of simulated music, we're focusing on original music that is shaping the future," Charisse C says.
The most recent Abantu recording camp featured 17 artists from all corners of the UK, representing Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Uganda, Ghana, Zambia and more.
"Come To Me (My Love)" is now available across all streaming platforms.
