Unbothered, a live comedy experience curated by Dillan Chiota will be making its way to the Jacaranda Conference Room at the HICC this July. The showcase will not only feature some of Zimbabwe’s most gifted comics in Ckanyiso, Mbongeni, Lebohang, and Chipenzi, but a continental giant in Dr. Hillary Okello.
For Dillan Chiota, Unbothered arrives at a pivotal moment in his career. It's only his first show of the but it arrives on the back of his biggest event ever in December, and it rolls it out a new series of shows at the Jacaranda Conference Room.
"It’s incredibly exciting to finally be back on stage after what has felt like a long wait. December marked the biggest event of my career so far—an event that I organised, sold out, and later released on YouTube through EarGround TV. It was a significant milestone, and one that reinforced my belief in the potential of Zimbabwean comedy," shared the comedian.
Beyond his personal ambitions, Chiota's desire is to see the Zimbabwean comedy industry reach a stage where it can consistently host large-scale events and do so more frequently. This has been a key driving factor in his collaboration with the HICC.
"I am excited about what lies ahead and motivated to continue building bigger and better experiences for audiences," stated Chiota.
"I am also deeply grateful for the support and encouragement I have received from some of the industry's biggest names, including Doc Vikela, King Kandoro, Carl Joshua Ncube, Tinaye Wayne, Learnmore Jonasi, and Nigel Tha Slick Pastor."

"These are the trailblazers who helped pave the way for comics like us to dream bigger, aim higher, and believe that it is possible to grow and develop our craft on a larger scale."
Unbothered will see the return to Zimbabwe of Dr. Hillary Okello, the Ugandan comic who endeared himself to audiences in December last year at King Kandoro's State Of The Nation. The show arrives while he is currently on his Jokes From Far Away World Tour, which has seen him visit ESwatini, South Africa, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania.
"Coming back to Zimbabwe feels like returning to friends. The energy, the laughter, and the support I’ve received from audiences there have always been incredible," shared Okello.
"I’m excited to be back, share some new stories, and have a great time with everyone, and I'm glad that Dillan was able to invite me to his platform that allows us collaborate more as African creatives."
The Unbothered comedy show will take place on July 12 at the Jacaranda Conference Room at HICC, tickets are now on sale via Dillan Chiota Live.
