Tinashe Fortune, one of New School Comedy's brightest talents, will be taking on Reps Theatre on the 24th October with a show dubbed "Certified Ghetto Superstar." This is the comedian's first headline performance at Harare's most iconic theatre. It earns its name from one of Tinashe's many monikers, and reflects a moment of acceptance.
"We went with 'Certified Ghetto Superstar' because the whole show is actually more of a graduation story, from being a self proclaimed superstar to one who people have actually accepted to be one," shared the comedian.
Tinashe has become not only a renowned stand up comic, but wedding MC and events host. 2026 has seen him not only host Nyaradzo’s 25 year anniversary celebration - Upenyu Festival but also Shoko Festival Mash Up Night.
Certified Ghetto Superstar comes as the perfect way to cap a high flying year and the comedian says we can expect "everyday stories for everyday people, life’s interpretation form the point of view of a ghetto yut."
As far as comedy goes, Tinashe is no stranger to the big stage. The comedian has graced the stage at Reps Theatre, 7 Arts Theatre and HICC as an opener, but now comes the time for him to be the main act. A moment 8 years in the making.
"It feels like the right time because we’ve been on a beautiful journey and there’s a lot I’ve learnt, a lot I’ve experienced and a lot to just share, and as mentioned before, this is a graduation, an opportunity to show other dreamers out there that there comes a time when you should just reach for the stars," shared Tinashe.
Tickets for Certified Ghetto Superstar are currently on sale via SahwiGate.
