Credited for producing for notable artists like Jason Derulo, Sean Paul, Pitbull, Trey Songz and Alex Aiono; Chaii’s passion for different sounds and genres extends into his own projects. Known for catchy club bangers often falling under the afrobeats umbrella that have made it onto the renowned FIFA soundtrack, Chaii’s sound presents itself as a representation of what music looks and feels like from the continent.
Born Philip Kembo and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, Dr. Chaii started making beats at the age of 13. He went
on to pursue a degree in Marketing & Advertising while making music as a hobby. Chaii completed his undergraduate degree at Lancaster University and went on to obtain a
masters degree in Advanced Marketing Management. Soon after graduating Dr. Chaii
relocated to Los Angeles and was signed to Artist Publishing Group in August 2016.
