Since the pandemic began and lockdown's were announced across the world, Munya Chawawa has been on a tireless journey of entertaining us. Whether it's his satire, parody songs or skits, he has honed so many characters that have kept us laughing and he keeps on getting recognised for his craft and rightly so. The comedian today announced that he had earned his first Rated Awards nomination in the category for Personality of the year. Munya is nominated alongside Michael Dapaah, Chunkz, Big Zuu, Mo Giligan, Niko Omilana, Zeze Millz, Yung Filly, Nella Rose and Harry Pinero.

The nomination comes only days after the comedian announced he would be featuring in his first TV show. Munya is set to be alongside Tom Allen and Jessica Knappett co-hosting a show titled Complaints Welcome, a Channel 4 comedy entertainment series airing TV viewers' views. An official launch date is yet to be set but the show is scheduled to air some time later this year. Voting for GRM Daily's Rated Awards is currently open and the award show is set for September 16.

It seems there's no stopping Munya and no telling what heights he can reach. His comedic personas have signed a trilogy of deals: Barty Crease has a Netflix deal, Unknown P has signed to Atlantic and Jonny Oliver is on MasterChef. And he is also nominated for the Zim Achievers Awards.
