Pikicha Gallery Opens In Harare This Weekend With Roots & Routes: A Joint Exhibition By Tamary Kudita & Natasha Kudita

Pikicha Gallery is set to open in Harare this weekend at Emagumeni Centre in Helensvale (Borrowdale). The first show being exhibited has been dubbed Roots & Routes and it will be 2021 Sony Open Photographer of the Year Tamary Kudita's first exhibition in Zimbabwe. The photographer will share the exhibition with her sister Natasha Kudita who is a digital & fine artist.

The new art space was put together as a co-working space to encourage and accommodate creatives to work in a shared environment. The gallery will be officially opened this Saturday at 4 pm and admission will be free.

Pikicha Gallery Opens In Harare
We hope that more young professionals will experience the work of different creatives in the community and begin to appreciate the kaleidoscope of visions and engagement that exists in the sector. Secondly, the diversity of ideas, talent, experiences and perspectives will contribute to new enlightenment about the important role that the arts play in all our lives and the way it enables us to make sense of a very complex and challenging world.
Our first show ‘Routes and Roots’ features the work of two very creative young women thus Tamary and Natasha Kudita, sisters who have both had the privilege to pursue the visual arts as their professions choice. Not only are they professionally trained, but they exude creativity and engagement on a range of narratives that range from individual identity to the socially constructed world that impacts on African lives and realities

I am so excited to announce that I will be showcasing my entire African Victorian series for the first time ever in Zimbabwe. Join us at the public opening of Pikicha Gallery on Saturday the 16th of July at 4pm. Looking forward to seeing you there!
