National Gallery of Zimbabwe Calls For Submissions For It's Annual Women's Exhibition

The National Gallery of Zimbabwe is inviting the submission of new artworks in all media for Embrace Equity. They're seeking works by artists who are Women, above the age of 18 and residing in Zimbabwe.

Embrace Equity the theme for 2023’s International Women’s Day will serve as a basis for the annual Women’s Exhibition. The theme aims to focus on creating a fair and equal world for women and girls. Artists are thus encouraged to create work that best envelopes the thematic guidelines and present the final work that is ready to hang before, or on; Friday 3 March 2023, at 4:30 pm.


Artists are requested to send a Biography, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Artist Statement to exhibitions@nationalgallery.co.zw. In the email submission, one should specify by way of the subject “Embrace Equity” alongside the PDF attachments of the biographical data provided. Submission of Artwork is free. Any works submitted after the specified deadline will not be accepted.


Last year the Women's Exhibition dedicated to International Women's Day was held under the theme Break The Bias. The exhibition was conceptualized and organized by Mashonaland Irish Society President Ann Flanagan Tsapayi and NGZ deputy director and curator Fadzai Muchemwa. It was officially opened by the Ambassador of Ireland to Zimbabwe, Fionnuala Gilsenan.
