Enterprise Zimbabwe, a program initiated by Richard Branson's philanthropic organization, Virgin Unite, was launched in 2010 with the goal of fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Additionally, in 2014, Virgin Unite and its partners introduced a dedicated program to support female entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe, contributing to the advancement and upliftment of women in business.

In 2019, Sir Richard Branson inaugurated the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship in South Africa. This establishment has been a steadfast supporter of local entrepreneurs for many years and has now evolved into a social enterprise supplier-development hub. The vision is simple yet profound—to become the heart of entrepreneurship in Southern Africa.

Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson is a visionary entrepreneur whose accomplishments have left an indelible mark on the business world. In the 1970s, he established the Virgin Group, a conglomerate that presently oversees more than 400 companies across diverse industries.

Among Branson's notable ventures is Virgin Galactic, founded in 2004. This trailblazing company achieved a significant milestone on June 28, 2023, by successfully completing its inaugural commercial mission, carrying four passengers to suborbital space and back. The triumph marked a pivotal moment for Virgin Galactic, solidifying its ambitions in the realm of space exploration.

The historic flight commenced at 10:30 a.m. ET (1430 GMT) from Spaceport America in New Mexico. After a duration of 58 minutes, the spacecraft reached suborbital space, with passengers enjoying a few breathtaking moments floating at an impressive apogee of 52.9 miles (85.1 kilometres). The space plane safely returned to Spaceport America, gracefully landing at 11:42 a.m. ET (1542 GMT).

Adding to his diverse portfolio, Richard Branson is the proud owner of the Ulusaba Safari Private Game Reserve, nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of Kruger and its surrounds in South Africa. This exclusive reserve offers a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the splendours of the African wilderness while enjoying exceptional hospitality and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
