Canada-based Zimbabwean Rapper Charmaine received her first-ever nomination at the 2022 JUNO Awards for her song Bold.

Charmaine posted the good news on Instagram,

"Y’all…..I can’t believe this.. My FIRST single as my FIRST EVER award nomination?! This is INSANE!!! Wow, I’m so grateful. So so grateful." she wrote. "Thank you so much Juno Awards for this!! I’m still processing omg."

Named in tribute to Pierre Juneau, the first chairperson of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), the JUNO Awards were founded to raise the public profile and recognition of musical artists in Canada.

Charlotte Cardin leads this year's nominees list with six nominations whilst Bieber and The Weeknd tie with 5 nominations. Cardin is also set to perform alongside Arkells, Avril Lavigne, Mustafa at 1st in-person ceremony since the pandemic began

The 51st Juno Awards are scheduled to take place in Toronto on May 15 at the open-air Budweiser Stage at Ontario Place. 

The show will be broadcast at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, and CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos and CBC Music's Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter pages. Tickets go on sale on March 4 at 10 a.m. ET.
